All Classes: Students read about Columbus in the textbook (449-450) and took bulleted notes. Students then listened to excerpts from chapter one of Howard Zinn's A People's History of the United States. Students took bulleted notes while listening.
Homework:
1. Write a response to the differences between the textbook version of Columbus & Zinn's version of Columbus (2 paragraphs).
2. After listening to Zinn's version of Columbus, do you think our country should celebrate Columbus Day? (1-2 paragraphs)
3. Pick one quote / story from Zinn's reading to illustrate.
