All Classes: New unit begins today, The Middle Ages.
In class today: Students completed a "Picture Walk" from two chapters of the textbook about the Middle Ages.
A picture walk is a visual preview of the images included in the textbook that are described and then analyzed by the student. The goal / objective of the picture walk is for students to have a broad understanding of what we are going to cover in the unit, to bring forth prior knowledge and connect their background knowledge to the upcoming unit.
All Classes Homework: Based on the picture walk, write a summary of the unit. In the summary be sure to include:
- The time period we will be studying
- What major events took place
- What you already know about the unit that appeared in the picture walk
- What you don't understand about the unit.
